Liam MacDonald joins CW Moto for remainder of 2025
The flying Kiwi is returning to the MotoAmerica paddock. Former Twins Cup rider Liam MacDonald is delighted to announce that he is joining CW Moto in a new position from Road Atlanta.
MacDonald, who joined the MotoAmerica grid after making a name for himself in Asia in 2021, will take on a Crew Member role after several years as a rider.
Liam is excited about a non-racing role. His love of all things tech and his ability to interpret data and develop motorcycles something that he feels will benefit CW Moto and their young British ‘rookie’ Lucca Allen throughout 2025 and beyond.
Liam also understands what it’s like racing in a foreign country, on circuits you don’t know and he hopes that together with the expertise already within CW Moto squad he can help them make progress towards the front of the Supersport grid, whilst at the same time learning from them as he takes the first steps in a new racing related career.
He will also make several trips to Europe during the year as he looks to gain as much off-track experience as possible.
Liam MacDonald:
“I am excited and happy to announce that I am joining CW Moto for the rest of the 2025 season. I will be leaning into more of a technical role which is something I have always had a vested interest in, and I am looking forward to seeing both what I can bring to the team but also what I can learn from them. I am also looking forward to my European trips and to bringing back as much information as I can to help the team. I cannot wait to start working with Lucca Allen. He’s a young kid from overseas trying to make a name for himself in MotoAmerica – something with which I am familiar. I cannot wait to see what comes of this new venture and to what CW Moto can achieve this year. I want to thank Chris and Sara for the opportunity, and I cannot wait to be back in the MotoAmerica paddock!”
